The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), has been in the news because it has reached an agreement with destraMusic.com to power digital music shops for several of ABC’s properties, including ABC Shop, Triple J and ABC Classic FM.

DestraMusic tracks will be available in WMA format with DRM and at the moment no schedule for the launching of the stores or price frames was announced.  “The ABC will be Australia’s first broadcaster to align an online digital music download store with their national radio and television programming,” commented destraMusic CEO Domenic Carosa. “Listeners will potentially be able to purchase a song immediately upon hearing it on-air.”
