Apple Announces iPod-Ready AirplanesNovember 16, 2006
You have an iPod-compatible clock radio, a car stereo deck to jack into your MP3 player and even those crazy iPod-enabled running shoes, but do you have that iPod ready jet liner?
Apple announced it will partner with six airlines to offer onboard iPod jacks in its seats. The jacks will charge your player while allowing you to listen to tunes or, if you have a newer video model, will play videos on the seatback screen.
Apple will begin installing its MP3-ready seats in jets owned by United, Delta, Continental, Air France, KLM and Emirates.
