Napster Mobile Pushes Into Portuguese Mobile MarketNovember 15, 2006
Napster Mobile, a joint venture between Napster and Ericsson, has now finalized an agreement with TMN Portugal.
The deal will deliver about two million tracks to TMN subscribers, who can easily search, browse, preview and purchase the catalog.
“Ericsson offered us an easy, cost-efficient and quick way to launch the service through its hosted offering, which we think is a good business model for us,” said Zeinal Bava, president of TMN Portugal.
Ericsson will handle the backend infrastructure, a setup that creates a relatively quick setup period and minimal maintenance for TMN.
The pair first unveiled the offering at 3GSM in Barcelona earlier this year, and US-based regional carrier SunCom Wireless adopted the offering in August.
